This is a very fun day that the kids, (and teachers), really enjoy so come be a part of it! Please click on the link below to sign up! Because this is a one time event you DO NOT need to be fingerprinted to help out. Thanks to all who have already signed up. Everyone is welcome! Moms, dads, grandparents---all volunteers are appreciated!

Timeline for grade levels are outlined as follows:
Lower Grades - TK, K, 1st, 2nd - AM Session 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Thank you so much to Robin Gates and Patti Hales who have been working hard to plan this day!

Have you heard? We've got new soccer and basketballs on the playground! Delivered last week, there are 12 new balls for each side of the playground, and each has a different design to make sure upper grade and lower grade balls stay on the right side of the playground! The kids have been having a great time playing with them!

Thank YOU!!!

We have so many things to be thankful for at Stoneridge, and at the top of the list are our wonderful parents and staff! Our amazing PTC is celebrating our staff this week and our office building is decorated from top to bottom-- decked out in a fun camping theme! Our week started with coffee and treats, and today a delicious breakfast! On Thursday, our very own Park Family (who own the River's Edge Cafe in Sacramento) are graciously donating the entire luncheon this Friday. Be sure to stop by and have a bite if you are in Sacramento! You can check them out at :

Also, Field Day is planned for June 1st and flyers are coming home! We will have TK-2nd grade stations in the morning and upper grades in the afternoon. Watch for a signup genius soon! Related to  the outdoors, we have also purchased 24 new basketball and soccer balls for playground use and they are due to arrive tomorrow! We have ordered different colors and brands for the upper and lower playgrounds so that the kids can be sure to get them on the right cart. We are excited to get new equipment in the kids hands and will have even more for the start of next year!

CAASPP Testing May 1-25
Stoneridge students in grades 3-5 will be taking the statewide achievement test (CAASPP)
during the month of May. This test is given each year to gather data around the growth and achievement of our students in Language Arts, Math, and Science in grade 5. It is also a great opportunity to discover areas of strength and growth in our instructional practices school-wide. This year, all students will be testing in the morning and we will have grade levels testing in a staggered schedule throughout the month. Thank you for making sure your child is at school and on time each day and for encouraging them to do their best and show what they know! Most students will finish the testing in a week or less. For more information, please read the letter here from our district office sent out earlier this year. We have much to celebrate and know each student will do their best!

Celebrating Girls on the Run By Guest Blogger Jen Hall

Race Day!

The Stoneridge Girls on the Run (GOTR) Team finished their season with the GOTR 5K last Saturday. This race is a final celebration for the girls and reflects the amazing bond and friendships they have shared as well as how hard they have worked all season. With 500 girls and another 500 running buddies and community supporters from across the Sacramento area, racers came dressed in themes for their team, enjoyed music and lots of celebrating. KCRA was there and interviewed our girls, as well. That was definitely a highlight for them all.

As coaches, we love this event as it really shows these girls what they’re capable of and honors each of them in their own unique way. We are all so proud of what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve learned with the program. Many girls will return next season and we can not wait! For those that are moving on to middle school, we will truly miss them. But, we hope that the tools and skills they’ve learned with GOTR will help them in all the challenges and celebrations to come. That’s why we do this program. We know it makes a huge impact on these girls’ lives. Congratulations GOTR Stoneridge!!

And special thanks to my amazing coaches, Jen Speak, Rita Gill and Sarah McGinnis.

#GOTR Community Service

In addition to running a great race, the 2018 GOTR team also did a clean up of the Stoneridge campus as part of their community service project. The team weeded the school garden and cleaned up trash from across the campus. They worked hard and were very proud to spruce up their school grounds. GOTR conducts a community service project every season. What a great team we have had this year.

With over 25 girls, we’ve been able to build a strong and committed team that has grown incredibly this season!
