Thank you so much for all of your donations for the Stoneridge Jog-A-Thon! We are in the last few days until our super fun event and the students cannot wait to lace up their shoes and jog for our school. So far, we have raised over $40,000 which is amazing. The staff and I are so grateful for your generosity.  Remember that Jog-A-Thon is our ONLY direct fundraiser of the year. Last year’s Step It Up raised over $65,000 so I know we can do the same if not more this year!

Our goal is for every student to raise $100. There are tons of prizes that your kids can win including several class and grade level contests. And to sweeten the pot, we’re adding a new GOLDEN TICKET raffle. Any student that donates $150 or more will receive a GOLDEN TICKET that they can enter for a chance to win one of these amazing grand prizes of their choice:

  • Principal for a Day!!

  • Lead the Timberwolf Chant at an assembly

  • Special Guest on Timberwolf TV Episode

  • Bring 3 friends and get to eat at the teacher's outside umbrella table

  • Be a lunch DJ

  • Have lunch with their little buddy

  • Lead flag salute

  • Take home a stuffed Stoneridge Timberwolf for the week

GOLDEN TICKET contest will run through Thursday, 9/29, and winners will be picked at the Friday Assembly on 9/30. Good luck!! The easiest way to donate is to send your child’s pledge link to family and friends to collect donations. Search for the email with the subject line Stoneridge Jog-A-Thon Pledge Page or go to our fundraising homepage at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/StoneridgeJog and search for your child by first name and last initial. You can just send out your child’s link and watch the donations come in! I did it for my daughter and it was really super easy and safe.

Thank you again for all of your support. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you on the field for Jog-A-Thon on September 29th!

Sunday, September 18

Hello Families! It was a great week and I cannot believe the rain today! The theme for the next two weeks is going to be the Jog A Thon. We would love to increase our percentage of participation. Currently, 35% of Stoneridge students have sent out information about the Jog a Thon. We would love to double that number this week.

Drop off and Pick Up: Hello Families, our parking lot has some room for improvement. We have had all teachers out front in order to help you understand the rules of drop off and pick up. Please see the following guidelines:

Parking Lot:

We have been experiencing a lot of issues in our parking lot this year so we just wanted to go over a couple of rules for those that are new or maybe just don’t know.

  • Please make sure adults and children are ALWAYS using crosswalks. Often cars are being waved along and if people are darting in and out of cars they can be struck. We have had too many close calls already this year with children as well as adults.

  • If you are driving up, please make sure you continue to pull all the way up so the line does not back up. For pickup, children ARE NOT allowed to get into cars until the car has entered the yellow curb zone.

  • You cannot park and exit your vehicle AT ANY TIME in the drop off lane. If your child is unable to enter or exit the vehicle without your assistance, you need to find a parking spot and help them exit.

  • Please make sure you are following the arrows on the ground on school property. You are NOT allowed to enter the parking lot and then turn right and pull up in front of the office/front gates. If your child wants to enter through these gates, you need to park your car in a parking space or on the street and then they can walk up using the crosswalks.

  • Please DO NOT move any cones that are blocking parts of the parking lot. There should be no cars driving in front of the office, which is why there are cones blocking this area.

  • Gates open at 7:30 in the morning and remain open until 7:40. ALL gates are closed at 7:40am. If your child comes to school ANY time after 7:40, they will need to enter through the office.

Sunday, September 11

Today is September 11th, a day I know I will never forget. It was my first year of teaching and such a tough day to navigate with students. What I remember most was simply waiting. I was on a run, listening to the radio, when the first plane hit and everyone was wondering what the heck happened. Then, another plane hit. And then, we waited. We waited as they put the pieces together and we waited for people to be rescued. It was a long time before we really understood what happened, but on that day, our world changed forever. It is interesting to try to help our own children understand this event as it is simply part of history. But we experienced it and its magnitude, first hand. Although, our children were not alive during this event, they have definitely lived through their fair share of life-changing events. My only advice is to talk about things, write things down and keep a journal. Our kids have experienced a lot!

Speaking of events, we had quite a week at Stoneridge. The kids were inside for a lot of the week due to extreme heat and poor air quality. Then, on Friday morning, we had an unexpected visitor in front of the school. Through it all, you were wonderful, supportive and understanding. Thank you! I have high hopes for this week, but I know better. I will wait and see what each day brings and adjust accordingly.

Star Nova Session 1- CANCELED: Our first round of Star Nova after school enrichment has been canceled due to low enrollment. Please sign up early to get on the list for future sessions.

Girls on the Run: We need some volunteers to help lead Girls on the Run. There is a fall program that we would love to be a part of. This is an amazing program that really empowers our female students. It is for students grades 3-5. Please let me know if you are interested!

Jog-A-Thon: It is time..it is coming...the event of the year... The Stoneridge Jog A Thon! Lace up your shoes and start stretching now. We are so excited to bring this event back and we want to do it is a BIG way! Of course, we cannot do this without you. Be on the look out from an email from 99 Pledges to set up your donation page. ALL money comes back to Stoneridge! Every penny!! Please reach out if you can help with some of the organization and preparation. We could really use some extra hands. Thank You!
