Sunday, Oct. 24

This rain is such a gift! I am not sure I have ever been so excited about indoor recess! Fingers crossed it continues. We need rain!! Also, have you noticed how the forecast for the week changes by the minute? For example, on Thursday when I left my house, my phone said 0% of rain. However, it was raining by the time I got to work and didn't stop until noon!! I much prefer this to when the weather app says 90% chance of rain, but it never rains. Ok, now I am just rambling. BUT, I do have a point. Right now, it says it will not rain on Friday, the day of the Harvest Parade🤞Here's to hoping it stays that way!!

BREAKING NEWS!! Stoneridge will be celebrating being drug free during Red Ribbon Week this week. We will celebrate with spirit days each day!

Harvest Festival Parade: So exciting! The Harvest Parade will be on Friday, 10/29, at 9:15am. We ask that parents enter through the kindergarten gate. There will be a sign in and visitor sticker. Parents should also exit through that gate and sign out. Parents will walk to the black top to watch the parade, snap some cute pics, then leave through the front gate. We can't wait!

Stoneridge Phone Number: We have found that some phone carriers have decided the Stoneridge phone number is spam. You may be missing out on calls from the school. Please add our number to your contacts so you don't miss any important calls: 916 771 1830

Make Up Picture Day: This Wednesday, 10/27, is make up picture day. If you would like your child to retake their pictures, please send the original picture packet back with them on Wednesday.
The Scholastic Book Fair is Here! Our classes will be previewing the book fair on Monday and Tuesday to check out all the amazing books we have available to purchase. Your child will come home with a wish list. I am excited to announce we will be able to open the book fair earlier than expected! The book fair will now be open from October 27th-November 5th during school hours.  All proceeds from the book fair go directly to improving our school library! Please take advantage of the E-Wallet option that scholastic has. It's a great cashless option for your students to shop, and other family members can add funds to your child's E-Wallet! Go to scholastic.com/fair to find our school.

Birthday Board: The Birthday Board is back!! Yay!! The marquee on Alexandra is to announce student birthdays. If you would like to have your child's name on the board, go to stoneridgeshop.com and purchase the birthday board!

Birthday Reminder: Please do not bring food for the class to celebrate your child. Goody bags are fine!

Girls on the Run: RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS! We're looking for coaches to lead the Stoneridge Girls on the Run (GOTR) Team. GOTR is a 8-week  social-emotional learning after-school program for girls in 3rd - 5th grades, that runs mid-February through mid-May.  It meets twice a week after school for 90 minutes. Coaches are provided training and a research-based curriculum that weaves together physical activity and lessons on self-empowerment and confidence boosting. It teaches girls to take care of themselves, their friends and their community. In addition to the lessons and a community service project, the program culminates in a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. You don't have to be a runner to coach! If interested, please contact Jen Speak at jenhilbertspeak@gmail.com for more details.

Help Needed!!! We are looking for Meal Duty Supervisors (MDS). As an MDS, you help supervise lunch and lunch recess. The hours are from 12:05-1:05pm. If you cannot commit full time, you can be hired as a sub and come a few days a week. We would greatly appreciate more help at lunch!! You can apply on edjoin.org or reach out to Mrs. Brooks if you are interested.

Have a wonderful Week!
