Our Holiday Food Drive for the Placer Food Bank has been extended to Wednesday, December 21st!  Please bring in any canned goods or non-perishable donations by Wednesday - the class with the most donations will win a frozen yogurt party!


Girls On The Run registration opens Jan 23!
Stoneridge is very pleased to be able to offer another season of Girls on the Run. For a great short video on GOTR, go here: GOTR Video 

Girls on the Run is a place where girls learn what they can. No limits. No constraints. Only opportunities to be remarkable. Twice a week for 12 weeks, your girl will learn that her worth comes from within, that healthy relationships matter and that she can have an impact on the world around her. At the end of the season, she will be emotionally and physically prepared to complete a 5K event. 

Season begins Feb. 13 and ends with a 5K event on May 13.  All practices are on the Stoneridge campus.  Practices will be Mondays from 2:00-3:30pm and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:45pm

Scholarship applications are available NOW for families.

Crossing Guard
Beginning December 12th, a Crossing Guard will be stationed at Alexandra and Oak Crest Drive. Mr. Carlo will be the regular crossing guard but occasionally you will see a different guard substituting for him.  Thank you to the City of Roseville for helping us get a crossing guard in this area.
Be sure and say “Hi” to Mr. Carlo and welcome him to Stoneridge. He will be there rain or shine! Keep walking and biking to school!  Please see the flyer for more details.

3rd Grade Field Trip to iFly


Volunteers
The new volunteer process started on December 1st.  ALL volunteers must be fingerprinted and have TB clearance in order to volunteer in the classrooms and events or go on field trips.  This includes Science Docent, Art Docent, Daily 5, or any other classroom volunteer.  This process is in place for student safety.  If you have any questions please contact our office.

Food Drive
Food drive is happening right now!  Thank you to those that have already donated.  Each class will participate in a contest to see who can raise the most food. The winning class will receive a frozen yogurt party. Donations will be collected from November 28 - December 19.  Please see the flyer below for more information.

Holiday Grams
Tell your kids to come decorate a card with the Leadership Club and send it to a friend.  All you have to do is bring $1 to Room 30 on December 12, 13, 14, or 15 and all of the money goes to get a head-start on fundraising for Pennies for Patients that helps kids with leukemia.

Stoneridge Parent Information Night
January 19th we will have our annual Parent Information Night.  This night is geared more toward incoming TK and Kinder students or any new incoming students.  Anyone is welcome to come and hear more about our school and programs.

Inter/Intra District Transfers
If you are an Interdistrict transfer the window to reapply for the transfer starts on January 4th.  Any current TK student (who does not live in our attendance area) who wishes to remain at Stoneridge or  any 5th grade students going to Eich and are on a current intra/inter district transfer will need to apply.  The open enrollment period is Jan. 4 - Jan. 27th.  For more information or download the applications please visit the district webiste:  www.rcsdk8.org

PE News
Our PE teacher would like to remind all students to dress in layers!  The weather is getting colder and if it's not raining they will be outside - so have your child wear warmer clothing especially on PE days (hats, gloves, jackets).  Be sure to mark all clothing with your child's name.

Volunteer Fingerprinting & TB Clearance
The new volunteer process started on December 1st.  ALL volunteers must be fingerprinted and have TB clearance in order to volunteer in the classrooms and events or go on field trips.  A regular volunteer is considered a Category II volunteer.  Anyone that attends events like Character Assemblies or class parties must have a Category I Application.  This process is in place for student safety.  If you have any questions please contact our office.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Our staff wishes your family a Happy Thanksgiving and break.  We are very thankful to have such supportive families at our school.  We hope you get time to relax and enjoy time with family over the break.


Stoneridge Musical Parent Meeting 
If your child (Grades 3rd - 5th) is interesed in auditioning for the musical this year, a parent must attend a mandatory pre-audition informational meeting on Tuesday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the Stoneridge Library.  You will receive information regarding rehearsal schedule, attendance commitment, parent participation requirements, costs and more.  The meeting will last 20-30 minutes.


Thank you to all of our parents that brought in food for the staff on Wednesday.  We appreciate your generosity.

Box Top Update
Box Tops raised $638.00 for our school!  The winning teacher and class was Mrs. Buffington's TK class with 611 Box Tops turned in!  The student who turned the most in was Carter from 3rd grade!  You can continue collecting boxtops for the February collection drive.  You can also download the Box Tops Bonus App and earn money for our school while shopping!

Parent Teacher Conference Scheduler
November 6th is the last day to use the on-line scheduler to schedule parent teacher conferences. Retake Picture Day
Wednesday, October 26th is our Retake Picture day.  This is for any student who missed our Picture Day, new students who started after Sept. 21st, or students who would like to retake their pictures.  If you would like a retake just return the picture package you received back to school.

Harvest Parade
We will have our annual Harvest Parade on Friday, October 28th!

The parade will take place out on the blacktop at 11:10-11:40. No masks, face paint or accessories with costumes (i.e. fake swords, etc.). Students must be able to sit at their desks and function in a classroom atmosphere. Of course, our greatest concern is for the safety of our students. Therefore, please closely supervise your child’s costume choice. Parents are welcome to come watch the parade!

Father Daughter Minute to Win It - PreOrder Forms Due October 17th

Volunteer Fingerprinting & TB Clearance
Starting December 1st ALL volunteers must be fingerprinted and have TB clearance in order to volunteer in the classrooms and events or go on field trips.  The Roseville City School District is offering FREE live scan and TB clearance. Stoneridge is not scheduled until November 2nd.

Minecraft
Minecraft class is before school from 7:40-8:35am on Tuesday mornings or 3:15-4:10pm on Thursdays.  Classes will start on 10/25/16 and 10/27/16.  You can register starting at 8:00 pm on Monday October 17th.  Register at http://www.stoneridgeshop.com/minecraft/minecraft-class (link will not be live until 8pm on Monday night).

Jog Donations Due by October 14th!
A reminder that you have until Friday October 14th to get those donations in!  Thank you to those who have already donated.  Students that donate at least $20 get glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces and will run through the teacher tunnel at our first Glow in the Dark Dance party!

Jog-A-Thon
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and donated.  We had a great day!  Just a reminder you have until October 14th to donate.  Just $20 gets your child special glow in the dark wristbands and necklaces and also to run through the teacher tunnel at our first ever Glow in the Dark Dance Party!  You can donate by bringing in the envelope or going online to www.stoneridgeshop.com.

Walk to School Day
Walk to School Day is on Wednesday, October 5th!  Students that walk will get a special snack provided by the City's Safe Routes programs.  Parents can come on campus and we will start our day with some dancing from our Dance Team.  If you would like to lead a group of walkers we need some volunteers.  Please sign up to volunteer below.  Also below is the map of our walking routes

Food
A reminder that students cannot bring in donuts or other foods to share with the class or other students except on the class party days or days specified by your teacher. The same applies to field trips.  If you have any questions about our food policy please contact Mr. Blom.

MDS
We are looking for another Meal Duty Supervisor.  The job of Meal Duty Supervisor (MDS) is done for the purpose of providing safety of students during lunch time. Being a MDS is a great way to get started as an employee at Stoneridge and the Roseville City School District.

Box Tops
It's box top time! Please gather your box tops and have students turn them in to their teacher(or the office) between now and Thursday, October 27th!  Collection sheets will be distributed to students this week. Please label with student's name, grade and teacher.  Happy clipping!

GATE Testing
The 2017-2018 school year GATE identification test will be administered at the District Office for students currently in 2nd-7th grade around January 2017. The students will take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, OLSAT, that tests abstract thinking and reasoning ability. The form will be linked here beginning November 14, 2016.
