Change in COVID Testing. We Now Need Proof of Medically Supervised Tests:

There have been questions about whether parents need to actually show proof of the medically supervised test for symptomatic/home close contact and the answer is yes if they want to return earlier than the end of the official quarantine date.  If parents do NOT show proof of the medically supervised test then they must fulfill their entire quarantine period.

Request: We are in need of a licensed contractor to put in some steps for us. Please let me know if you are one or if you know one who may be interested! Thank you.

Have a great week!

We have exciting news to share with all our Timberwolf Families!!!

We attended the Light the Night Walk on November 6, to show support for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  So...much...fun!  Thank you to all the families who walked with us!
Speaking of support, Timberwolves, we have raised $2,780.00 for LLS!  That is 185% or our original goal of $1,500.00.  Keep up the good work all year long!

Saturday, November 13 took us to the Sacramento Blue Star Moms Care Packaging Event for our military serving all over the world.  We took all those wonderful notes and cards you made to show our appreciation for our brave soldiers!  Thank you students for the cards, and the families who participated in packing boxes!

We hope you had a warm and happy Thanksgiving!

'Tis the season for focusing on what we are thankful for. I really do my best to take the time to pause and reflect on the many things I am thankful for throughout the entire year. Regardless, it is a great time to be thankful!! On that note, I am thankful for all of you! We have our luncheon spots all covered and almost all of the parking lot spots covered. Thank you so much for your generosity!!

Sunday, November 7

Happy Sunday Families! I think the highlight of last week was the unexpected fire drill! Many of the kids were surprised, nervous and scared, but it was a good experience for everyone. This was the first fire drill we have had in probably 2 years and the alarms are LOUD. It was not expected which added another element. All I have to say is that I am very proud of our students and teachers. They were out of the classrooms and lined up quietly in no time.

Sports Camp: Another group of Eich students would like to provide a sports camp for some of our students after school. See the message below and fill out the interest form.

We quickly realized that we are all student athletes. Being athletes, we understand how expensive training and facilities can be. Not only that, but we want to create a positive environment for younger kids. We would like to host a volleyball-basketball camp for elementary students. Please fill out this form so we can get an idea of interest level.

Sunday, October 31

Happy Halloween from the Stoneridge Staff!! We had so much fun at our Harvest Parade and know the kids did too. We wish you all a safe and wonderful evening! 🎃

It was a big week at Stoneridge!

Our 5th graders had a 'Book Tasting.' They perused through books of all different genres and had a blast while exploring literature. One of the students asked me what they did to deserve this party. I said, this isn't a party, this is learning!! My heart couldn't have been happier!! The teachers put hours of work into making this such a magical experience!

The Bernhard Museum came to Stoneridge. The 3rd graders were so lucky to have this experience. A wonderful memory they will never forget. A huge thank you to the teachers and parent volunteers that made this a huge success!!

And finally, the Harvest Parade! The parade was awesome!! I have zero pictures of the parade, so this one of the office lemons will have to do! 🍋

The Scholastic Book Fair is Here! Our classes will be previewing the book fair on Monday and Tuesday to check out all the amazing books we have available to purchase. Your child will come home with a wish list. I am excited to announce we will be able to open the book fair earlier than expected! The book fair will now be open from October 27th-November 5th during school hours.  All proceeds from the book fair go directly to improving our school library! Please take advantage of the E-Wallet option that scholastic has. It's a great cashless option for your students to shop, and other family members can add funds to your child's E-Wallet! Go to scholastic.com/fair to find our school.

Birthday Board: The Birthday Board is back!! Yay!! The marquee on Alexandra is to announce student birthdays. If you would like to have your child's name on the board, go to stoneridgeshop.com and purchase the birthday board!

Lymphoma and Leukemia Society Fundraising: As always, we have the most generous community. We love to give back and help others. Here is the link to make a donation. Our school goal is $1500. It is not too late to donate! And the Light the Night Walk is November 6th. We have a Stoneridge Team participating. See the link for more info!

Hello Stoneridge parents! We have a group of 3 eighth graders, Shakeela McCay, Payton Henry, and Kaitlyn Kuznetsov, from Eich Middle School who, for their Community Project, wish to share their love of art with young students. They have decided to host free art classes after school, every Tuesday for 4 weeks starting on November 9th, and ending on December 7th (excluding the week of Thanksgiving break). There will be 25 spots available, first come first served. **Available only to grades 3-5**

Classes will last for an hour from 3:15 to 4:15 (please make sure your child is picked up by 4:30). An exception will be made the Tuesday of Conference Week (November 16th), where classes will go from 12:35-1:35 and students must be picked up by 1:50. These classes will go over drawing people with graphite, watercolor landscapes, animal studies with colored pencils, as well as still life with oil pastels.

**All supplies will be provided**

Fliers to sign up will be sent out this coming Tuesday on November 2nd and will be due back the following Monday, on the 8th. If your child wishes to join, please make sure the sign up sheet is turned in to the front office by Monday, November 8th, with all areas filled out.

This rain is such a gift! I am not sure I have ever been so excited about indoor recess! Fingers crossed it continues. We need rain!! Also, have you noticed how the forecast for the week changes by the minute? For example, on Thursday when I left my house, my phone said 0% of rain. However, it was raining by the time I got to work and didn't stop until noon!! I much prefer this to when the weather app says 90% chance of rain, but it never rains. Ok, now I am just rambling. BUT, I do have a point. Right now, it says it will not rain on Friday, the day of the Harvest Parade🤞Here's to hoping it stays that way!!

BREAKING NEWS!! Stoneridge will be celebrating being drug free during Red Ribbon Week this week. We will celebrate with spirit days each day!

Monday: Our School is Drug Free!- Wear Stoneridge Gear

Tuesday: Say Peace Out to Drugs!-  Wear Tie Dye

Wednesday: Team Up Against Drugs!- Wear your favorite sports team jersey/shirt

Thursday: Drugs are Old School!- Wear an outfit from an earlier decade

Friday: Say Boo to Drugs!- Wear your costume

Harvest Festival Parade: So exciting! The Harvest Parade will be on Friday, 10/29, at 9:15am. We ask that parents enter through the kindergarten gate. There will be a sign in and visitor sticker. Parents should also exit through that gate and sign out. Parents will walk to the black top to watch the parade, snap some cute pics, then leave through the front gate. We can't wait!

Stoneridge Phone Number: We have found that some phone carriers have decided the Stoneridge phone number is spam. You may be missing out on calls from the school. Please add our number to your contacts so you don't miss any important calls: 916 771 1830

Make Up Picture Day: This Wednesday, 10/27, is make up picture day. If you would like your child to retake their pictures, please send the original picture packet back with them on Wednesday.

Girls on the Run: RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS! We're looking for coaches to lead the Stoneridge Girls on the Run (GOTR) Team. GOTR is a 8-week  social-emotional learning after-school program for girls in 3rd - 5th grades, that runs mid-February through mid-May.  It meets twice a week after school for 90 minutes. Coaches are provided training and a research-based curriculum that weaves together physical activity and lessons on self-empowerment and confidence boosting. It teaches girls to take care of themselves, their friends and their community. In addition to the lessons and a community service project, the program culminates in a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. You don't have to be a runner to coach! If interested, please contact Jen Speak at jenhilbertspeak@gmail.com for more details.

Help Needed!!! We are looking for Meal Duty Supervisors (MDS). As an MDS, you help supervise lunch and lunch recess. The hours are from 12:05-1:05pm. If you cannot commit full time, you can be hired as a sub and come a few days a week. We would greatly appreciate more help at lunch!! You can apply on edjoin.org or reach out to Mrs. Brooks if you are interested.

Have a wonderful Week!

Sunday, October 17

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! There is a chance of rain next week. At Stoneridge, we really love rain but we really love it when it rains at night and the sun shines during the day. So, if you could send those vibes, we would be very appreciative!😊Of course, we take rain whenever it comes and hope for a lot!

Reminder: Earthquake drill on Friday. It would be helpful for you to have a conversation with your children to preview what is coming. Hopefully, they will be less nervous about it.

Birthday Board: The Birthday Board is back!! Yay!! The marquee on Alexandra is to announce student birthdays. If you would like to have your child's name on the board, go to stoneridgeshop.com and purchase the birthday board!

A HUGE thank you to our PTC members who planned the event and to all of you that volunteered! It was incredible.

School on Monday: YES- We have school on Monday! Many have asked because it is Columbus Day but we do have school. We will see the kids at school.

Amazon Wish List:  I am working on the list. I need to spend a little more time making sure I have everything set up correctly.

October 3, 2021

Welcome to October! We hope you had a great long weekend. Here's to hoping October brings us some cooler weather and clear skies. I know we are starting it off in a great way with our Ice Cream Social coming up this Thursday!

Speaking of the Ice Cream Social! It will be from 5:30-7pm this Thursday, Oct. 7. Many teachers will be there handing out the ice cream sandwiches and popsicles. We can still use your help! If you are able to, we would love your help with the event. You can sign up here:

Ice Cream Social Volunteer Sign Up

October Lunch Menu: Please see below for the October lunch menu. We don't always know ahead of time if items are going to change, but we will let you know ahead of time when we can!

Exciting Week! This week each class will get their own playground balls and we will be handing out PACK passes for making good choices while at recess. PACK passes are positive rewards for following Stoneridge expectation: Proactive Accountable Cooperative and Kind

These passes can be saved up and used for fun prizes like being on Timberwolf TV, having lunch at the park or picking out Mrs. Brooks' outfit. I can't wait to see what the students choose! We will be sharing this information with the students this week. Be sure to ask your child about them.

Tomorrow is Monday! Snowie King will be out front after school.

Amazon Wish List: In the blog next weekend, I will add a school Amazon Wish List in case you would like to purchase some items to help the school. As always, thank you for your incredible generosity.

Have a great week! See you tomorrow:)

Ice Cream Social: The new date will be Thursday- October, 7th from 5:30-7:30🍦
Chalk!!! This is what throwing colored chalk at Mrs. Brooks will look like. She will be dressed in white and you can buy a bag of colored, powdered chalk to throw at her. Can you imagine what she is going to look like by the end??

Snowie King will be in front of school again this Monday after school! Small is $3 and Large is $5

REMINDER!!! No School this Thursday and Friday! These are work days for the teachers.

Have a great week!

Sunday, September 19

The theme of this week's blog is the Ice Cream Social!! To be honest, this picture is false advertising because we will be offering ice cream sandwiches and popsicles!! Ha! The focus is not the treat, but rather the opportunity to spend time with our Stoneridge community and have a lot of fun!

We still need volunteers! Please sign up here:

Snowie King will be in front of the school on Monday. Please stop by for a cold treat.

Recap from Timberwolf TV:

Please send your children with a mask. Of course, we will provide a mask if they do not have one, but we are going through an incredible number of masks each day.

Gates will be closing at 8:50am. If you arrive after 8:50am, you child will have to enter through the office.

Volunteer Information:
To be cleared for participation as a volunteer, you must provide: TB clearance, Proof of Vaccination for Covid, or negative test, and obtain fingerprint clearance.

Tuberculosis Clearance (TB) Volunteers may submit clearance to the school site office where they will be volunteering. Clearance may be in the form of a tuberculosis risk assessment filled out by a medical professional or a medical note indicating the volunteer is free of TB. Proof of TB clearance should be kept at the school site.

Proof of Vaccination for Covid may be submitted in person or emailed to the office staff and a copy will be kept with the Volunteer Application in a secure location.

Fingerprinting (Volunteer Paid) Volunteers may obtain fingerprint clearance by obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance form from their local school site or the Roseville City School District office. Volunteers may then take the form to any Live Scan location. The District will not reimburse the cost of fingerprinting.

Have a wonderful week! We will see you Thursday evening!
