Sunday, April 24

Happy Monday! Welcome to the next edition of 'What crazy thing was Mrs. Brooks up to this weekend?' Well, on Saturday, I completed a mud, obstacle run: A 5k full of crazy obstacles, mud, and a huge water slide to finish. I did not want to do it. All of my team members were not able to participate, so it was just me. And, I was so nervous I would not be able to do some of the obstacles. I didn't want to fail. But, I did it and loved every minute! It felt so good!
Then, it was back to reality and off to my son's baseball tournament in Manteca, at the Field of Dreams. Good news, bad news- they kept winning! You know what that means...they keep playing. In the end, it all paid off and they won the tournament. Their team has been struggling, but they really came together this weekend. It is so great to see hard work pay off! I share because that is what our kids are doing everyday. Working hard and pushing themselves. Celebrate each success and then keep working! How great is that?
I have to share one more thing, to provide some parent perspective. My son made an error running bases. It was a pretty big error and my heart was breaking for him. It is so hard to watch our kids make mistakes. After the game, the only thing he was worried about was the outfielder that caught the 'bomb' he hit. He wasn't even thinking about the mistake running the bases. My own lessons out of that were it is ok to let our kids make mistakes, that is how we learn. And, let your child process what and how they need to process. It is mind boggling how different their perspective is from ours. Parents, we can do this! It is not easy.

Cooperative Winners: We had an assembly on Friday where we recognized our Cooperative students in each class. The students are so excited to cheer for one another and see their friends get awards. We will have our last assembly of the year in May and we will be recognizing Kind students. Honestly, it will be near impossible for teachers to choose just one!

PTC Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 4/26 at 3:45pm. We will meet in person and on Zoom. We will talk about openings next year and how you can help. We would love to have you there!

Sunday, April 17

Happy Spring and Happy Holidays to all of you! As with any holiday season, there are several different holidays being celebrated. Whatever you are celebrating, I hope that all of you are spending special time with your loved ones and enjoying the time together. I think the biggest call for celebration is the fact that we can be together in a more normal fashion this Spring.

The Brooks Fam had a wonderful Spring Break. We were lucky enough to go to Disneyland. Both parents and kids were very excited. Then, as soon as we got back, we added an adorable puppy to our family named Millie. It is definitely a Spring Break for the memory books, but like most of us, I could use a Spring Break to get some rest after our Spring Break😂 Tomorrow will have to do!

Day of Awesomeness!! The big day was the Thursday before break and it did not disappoint! The kids were so excited and if I may say, they were so well behaved. I hope your kids came home sharing stories about the day. I was so busy that I did not get many pictures, but I do have this important picture! A HUGE thank you to everyone that volunteered to help with this big event. We cannot do these things without all of you. Thank you!!

Teacher Appreciation Week
May 2nd - May 6th
PTC is already hard at work setting up an amazing week for our teachers. After Spring Break, PTC will announce the Daily Themes for the students if they'd like to participate in this wonderful week celebrating our Teachers.
If you want to get in on the planning fun now with PTC, please send an email to stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com.

Reminder: No School Tomorrow, Monday. We are excited to see the students on Tuesday. Tuesday marks the beginning of the end of the school year. There will be many things happening and time is going to fly. There are only 6 weeks of school remaining. It will be over before we realize! As I always say, take the time to appreciate each moment and soak it up!

Have a wonderful week!

Sunday, April 3

We are in April and that means we are at one of the most fun times of the year! Also, one of the most busy times of year! This is our last week before Spring Break and it is going to be AWESOME!!

Day of Awesomeness! This Thursday APRIL 7th, 2022
Students can't wait for their time of outrageous, well earned FUN as the reward for Step It Up!

IMPORTANT PARENT NOTES: Students must wear socks during their time slot on Thursday. PTC suggests students wear socks and even have a second pair to change into after the fun.

- If a student won any gifts for reaching certain fundraising levels, these gifts will be sent to school after April 7th, then sorted and given to their teachers to go home then.
Bottom line: None of these prizes will be going home with the students on April 7th.

Lastly, if you student wins cash prizes on Thursday, the cash will be put in an envelope and given to their teacher to give to them to take home at the end of the day or put in the front office for parents to pick up depending on the cash amount.

Thank you to the volunteers who have already signed up but we could use a few more.  Each time slot is roughly an hour and if all slots are full, email PTC at stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com to be added to the list.

Art To Remember -
Don’t Miss Out! Now is the time to place your order for custom keepsake products featuring your child’s artwork, or another design, if you choose to upload a different image. These items make great gifts for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and any other important person in your child’s life. The deadline to order for free shipping your order to school is this Friday, April 8th.  Go to ArtToRemember.com to place your order. If you can't find your student's code or need help, please email stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com.

State Testing, Independent Study and Absences: Grades 3-5 will be participating in State testing (CAASPP) from 4/19-5/13. Independent study will not be approved during this time. It is super important for students to be at school during this time. Thank you for understanding.

Independent Study is also not approved during the last two weeks of school, May 16-26.

Try not to plan any trips during this time. This is a fun time of the year, with a lot of things happening, so the kids want to be at school!

Have a wonderful week!
