2nd Graders ready for Grandparents Day!

House Sorting Day
We are excited to announce that next year at Stoneridge we will have a House System! Sorting day will be on Wednesday, May 31st.  We will be streaming it on Facebook Live.

Here are some of the basics about the Houses:
Who: All students K-4 will get sorted this year and all new Kinder students and any new incoming students will get sorted early next year.
What: The 4 House names are Altruismo (Color-Black, Primary Trait-Givers), Amistad (Color-Red, Primary Trait-Friendship), Isibindi (Color-Green, Primary Trait-Courage), and Reveur (Color-Blue, Primary Trait-Dreamer).
When:Sorting will happen on May 31st. The students will stay in the same House for their entire time at Stoneridge.
Where: Stoneridge Elementary
Why: Having Houses helps students form positive relationships with students from different grade levels and build community schoolwide. Houses will also help students feel like they are part of something bigger than just themselves or their class. The House system gives students more ownership of the school and helps teach them responsibility. We are also teaching clear behavior expectations through the Houses and our school. You can see the link below to see the essentials we will be teaching.

Volunteer Breakfast
We would like to thank all of our volunteers that helped this year!  You are invited to come to the Multi on Friday, June 2nd at 8:00am to help us celebrate you.  Our choir will be performing.  There will be staff supervision in the Kindergarten playground area so parents can enjoy some food and drinks.

Senior Walk
Our first ever "Senior Walk" will be on June 5th at 10:40am.  We are inviting all former Stoneridge students that are graduating from high school to come and walk at our school. Students will be able to see former classmates, teachers, staff, and current Stoneridge students. This is a fun way to connect with former Stoneridge students, as well as let our current students look up to those students graduating high school.

Crossing Guard
This year we have been lucky enough to have a crossing guard at Alexandra and Oak Crest.  To get funding from the City of Roseville for the crossing guard for next year, there needs to be around 80-100 walkers each day.  We were close to that number in the fall but nowhere near it in the spring.  We encourage you to walk for exercise with your child, keep cars out of the parking lot, and help with our count so we can hopefully have a crossing guard next year in the same spot.
