Happy Sunday! How wonderful was it to see the sun this weekend? It seems like it has been awhile! Our family was lucky enough to go to San Francisco for a lacrosse tournament this weekend. We used to go to the city all the time when we lived closer, but it has been a long time. This trip was a great reminder that there are so many amazing places close to us, and we should take advantage. Our family gets wrapped up in the business of life and doesn't do this enough. Joelle was having so much fun asking questions and taking it all in. The Brooks will be adding more experiences to our plans in 2023! What does your family have planned?

I love Reading Month: February is I Love Reading Month and we have lots of fun things planned. There will be two author visits for our students and we are very excited. You will have the opportunity to order their books ahead of time. Here is the link for ordering: Author Book Orders

Carnival is BACK!!! We are making plans to bring the Carnival back! This is a huge undertaking and will require lots of hands. 

Mark your calendars - first 'Carnival' planning meeting is Thursday, Feb. 23rd! Please plan on getting involved to help make the end of the party for our students a success!

Happy Sunday! This is an appreciation post. An appreciation to Mother Nature as she was kind enough to allow us outdoors for almost every recess last week. We were only indoors for only one recess all week and it was Friday's lunch. Being able to have the kids play outside is best for everyone! Trust me😀 We had a great week back!

Happy Chilly Sunday!! I am so thankful for the rain we have been getting! And it has brought some of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. That has to mean great things are coming. 

Thank you to the parents that took advantage of the Parent Night Out. It was a really fun night for the kids and I hope the parents had a good time too!

Penguin Patch: I am so excited the Penguin Patch is coming to our school. It offers gifts for your child to purchase for those they love. There are so many cute things and the most expensive is $12. I cannot wait to see what my daughter chooses for everyone.

Parenting with Positive Discipline: This is such an exciting opportunity. Our own psychologist, Kristen Baisden, is offering parenting classes. She shares amazing information about how to support behavior in children and has even worked with our staff. Don't pass this up!! The flier with the link to register is attached to this email. 

The last week of school before break, next week, is full of dress up days and fun!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It is also one of the most busy times of year! Just remember, you can't do it all and to be good to yourself! We have a lot of exciting things to share!

Sunday, November 27

 

Hello Families! I hope you had a wonderful break full of just what you needed. We have just a short bit until our next break. This is a busy time of year, for sure. 

As we go into these next couple weeks, please be mindful of illnesses in your family. There are a lot of sicknesses going around we want all of you to be healthy for the holidays. We can get ahead of it by keeping your children home if they are not well. A lot of the Stoneridge staff got hit hard by illness over this last break and we all want to be able to spend the holidays with our loved ones. 

A HUGE thank you to Emilia Guth who took on the roll as the Book Fair Lead!! Thank you to Candi Terry for all of her hard work on the Book Fair. And thank you to all of you who volunteered at the Book Fair so it could be open for the students. It was a huge success and our library will get many new books as a result. Thank you!!

There are some fun things coming in November! 

We are going to have our first Penguin Patch Holiday Shop. There will be all kinds of reasonably priced gifts available for your children to purchase for their family. There will be more information coming soon!

We are also going to have a Parents' Night Out!! Yay!! Stoneridge teachers will watch your children while you have a nice night out. It is going to be on Friday, Dec. 9 from 5-7:30pm. More details to follow.
